Acrylic & Mixed Media & Real Touch Flowers on Canvas
August 2026
Breath of Fresh Air is a reflection on the energy we bring into the lives of others – and the energy we hope to receive in return. The work considers the power of our words, our presence, and the emotional residue we leave behind. Is what we bring into a space uplifting or depleting? Is what we say necessary, supportive, kind – or simply something that did not need to be released into the world?
At its center is a woman choosing to be a fountain rather than a drain: to pour light, encouragement, beauty, and positive energy into the spaces she occupies. The flowers emerging from her become a visual expression of that intention – what leaves her is meant to bloom rather than wound.
But there is also a desire for reciprocity. She is mindful of what she puts into circulation because she understands that energy has a way of returning. She wants to give what she hopes to receive: generosity, kindness, support, and the feeling that someone’s presence can simply be a breath of fresh air.
Ultimately, the work asks a simple question: What are we leaving behind in people after we leave the room?
